For wanting to defend Eusebius and his badly written letter, he said, “First, he did not expound the dogma as a teacher when he drew up the letter, for the writing was made neither to the church nor to those without understanding, but to the blessed Paulinus.” (Asterius calls him “blessed” because Paulinus had the same teaching as him.) Therefore, since we have learned who Asterius’ “wisest fathers” are, I think it logical that we say who the teacher of both Paulinus and the others was. For it should be very clear to us who Paulinus’ teacher was from his letter.
