Written shortly after the emperor’s death, Eusebius’ Life of Constantine details the events and accomplishments of his reign (A.D. 306-337). Constantine is portrayed as a divinely appointed and extremely pious ruler who did great things for the church, from constructing and protecting religious sites to helping resolve religious disputes. Included in this work is a detailed description of the First Council of Nicaea, which was assembled and presided over by Constantine.
