Therefore, the statement “he was begotten before the ages” seems to have been said accordingly, for that which came forth from the Father who sent it forth, becomes a begotten one. But in using the next statement he was no longer sound or reverent, for to say that that which came forth from him is not the Word but simply just a son, and that this is the true manner of birth, usually gives those who hear it the impression of a human manifestation.
